A nice Sunday afternoon stroll
Some of the JamHot crew decided to get active, and took part in the Great Edinburgh Run on Sunday.
Running 10k through the streets of Edinburgh sounded like a good idea so we set about doing some training for the event, which went OK but not always as planned – one particular training session resulting in me picking up the wrong keys, getting locked out of my flat and being stuck with no money and no keys! However on the day things went really well and we all managed a pretty respectable (we think) time of one hour and one minute. There were some accusations of the time suffering from for an unplanned lace tying incident… but that was after a few beers had been consumed in the post race analysis. The final 500m saw some healthy competition (and illegal barging of people out the way!!) heading towards the finish line. Some poor warm-down skills have resulted in me being of limited mobility today.
The day was a great success, and everyone seemed to have a good time – especially the guys running near us dressed as cricketers – who looked to be struggling with their bats and helmets towards the end of the race.

Thanks to everyone who kindly supported us in raising money for the Yorkhill Children’s Foundation – it’s very much appreciated by us and also all the hard working people at the charity. A very worthwhile cause.
So, the question now is will we push ahead and try the 1/2 marathon in Glasgow next…. time will tell.

Well done lads, very impressive! How come Craig looks like the only one who actually went for a run though? Did you two just take a taxi?

That was only the start of the race… he was knackered just from getting the train.
Actually, he did win by 2 seconds after a hefty last minute sprint and some dodgy barging tactics… that’s my view of it though – Craig’s got a different story!
